From the 10th to the 12th of April, São Paulo, Brazil welcomes the 18th edition of the renowned Intermodal South America exhibition. The event takes place in the Transamérica Expo Center, offering 28,000 square meters of space to more than 550 exhibitors from 22 different countries and an attendance of over 50,000 high-level professionals. Intermodal South America is the top integrated exhibition and conference event for international trade, logistics services, transport and cargo handling in Latin America. This edition is focused on offering three distinct benefits to its visitors and exhibitors: networking and relationship-building, technical knowledge exchange via high-quality, content-driven conferences, and the generation of new business opportunities.

Event Description
The 18th edition of the event gathers visitors and exhibitors from the following industries: freight forwarding services (airlines, airports, combined transport organizations, airfreight service providers, forwarding agents, logistics providers…), freight transport system (equipment, trucks, systems for the air cargo industry), telematics / logistics and in-house transport and material flows systems. To sum up, all the transportation and logistics industry branches are represented! Apart from the business-doing aspects of the exhibition, a very interesting set of presentations allows attendees to increase their knowledge and translates into an exciting conference. The first one deals with air freight forwarding and is focused on cooperation in the air freight industry. The second one is about ports and intermodal problematics, specifically talking about strategic matters and technological aspects of cargo handling terminals such as the “Paperless Port Project” for instance. In conclusion, Latin America is continuously showing strong signs of economic developments, with growth rates that would be unthinkable in Europe. Logistics and efficient transportation systems are key to sustaining this growth. That’s why there are many business opportunities for you to discover by attending this exhibition.

Logistics in South America
In terms of geography and logistics development, Latin America is on the periphery of U.S. distribution networks. Given its proximity to the U.S. Market, ongoing development of transportation and logistics infrastructure in the region (thanks to third-party logistics penetration), allows the region’s two leading economies (Mexico and Brazil) to make extreme efforts to transform Latin America into an emerging logistics hotspot. Many companies have decided to set up operations here, which has resulted in these centralized facilities elevating the logistics standards across Latin American countries. In addition to the traditional agricultural products exported by Latin and South America (bananas from Ecuador or soya and meat from Argentina), industry keeps on booming (car manufacturing, electronic devices assembly, software development). Therefore, the internal logistics infrastructure and logistics service providers are developing at an extremely fast rate.

Conclusion
Latin America is waking up slowly, its economy growing quickly along with the need for efficient logistics and transportation services. The Intermodal South America exhibition is the perfect event to attend so don’t “miss the train”. There is a lot to learn and many new profitable business contacts to make.
