The European Green Deal refers to a series of policies and measures taken by the European Union to combat climate change and ensure sustainability.
This article aims to increase awareness of the logistics sector’s major responsibilities and declarations of the agreement, as well as the logistics sector’s awareness of the future and current logistics.
The European Green Deal document is not because adaptation to climate change is a limited issue in the face of climate expansion and increasing risks and disasters. Rather, it exists because climate change is a major issue. It is seen that an increasing number of international companies and investors aim to accelerate the transition to a low carbon, green economy by determining green transformation roadmaps.
Green Logistics and the Green Deal Agreement
Green logistics practices have an important role in continuously sustainable transportation by organizing economically and socially sustainable solutions against the changing mobility situation.
Among these initiatives, there are zero emission races and the RE100 (Renewable Energy 100) under the umbrella of the United Nations, which has 1,397 companies and 74 machines participating to date, and 280 companies are party to them. The European Green Deal is needed for the world transportation sector to benefit from the latest changes. Academic units have great knowledge to be able to take the steps that are followed manually. Therefore, the promotion of academic relations in this field in the world should be supported on a basis for data-based policy making.
The study was obtained because of the necessity of developing policies within the scope of the European Green Deal Agreement, the export of major economies to Europe, the continuation of trade relations with the E.U., and the establishment of capacity improvement, technology, and economic financing in the field of adaptation to climate change by the E.U. in the future, in bilateral business combinations. In this area, the steps to be taken are also important in terms of the inclusion of countries in global supply chains as well as the payments received from international investments.
The European Green Deal is the new growth strategy of the EU, which includes the basic goal of zeroing net greenhouse emissions by 2050 and the loss of economic growth due to resource use.
This agreement plays a very important role in the logistics sector in terms of the decrease in growth, the development of efficiency and productivity, and the promotion of innovation. In this case, the results or the people who will take new steps will be able to see, think, and consider the values and potential of the European Green Deal and its existence will be of great importance for logistics growth.
