The transportation and installation of offshore wind turbines is a complete process conducted over several phases, usually in sequence. There are several factors that can turn this process into a challenge. These factors can either be due to offshore site conditions or the technical limitations of the installation vessels.

The world’s largest offshore wind turbine, Haliade-X, is also the world’s most-productive. Here’s more information about it:

Developed and developing countries are now turning to renewable energy for their future. Like all technology in this area, offshore wind turbine technology is evolving every day. With a length of 260 meters, a 220-meter rotor, 107 meters of wings, and 12 MW of electricity production capacity, Haliade-X has the world’s largest offshore wind turbine title.

When it starts spinning, the wings of Haliade-X will also be the world’s most productive wind turbine. Haliade-X has a full capacity factor of 63%. That number might sound like a little bit, but even a 1% increase in the total production amount will cause an increase of $7 million, making the size of efficiency clearer.

The Haliade-X turbine, with a length of 260 meters (half the Empire State building), has the potential to maximize the oversea wind industry – producing 12 megawatts energy per 107 meter-long wing. This capacity is 26% higher than the current industry’s top rate, such that a single Haliade-X turbine has the capacity to meet the energy needs of the 16,000 housing.

Following the massive size of the Haliade-X turbine, here are ten of the world’s largest wind turbines, with stats on each:
