The World As You Have Never Before Seen It

At our New York office, seeing as we are a nice group of self-proclaimed logistics geeks, the walls are covered with maps. Just by turning my head 90 degrees to the left, I catch a glimpse of India, China, Turkey, and in fact the entire world. I love this global view so much, that I am incorporating it in to my home. I am redecorating my New York apartment, and while looking for inspiration I found myself browsing through various creative ideas on how to use maps and globes as decoration. Sit back and enjoy the view of the world as you might have never seen it.

A couple of these map pillows give your living room a bright and unique look.
Cheers to the world!

Globe ceiling. Looks a bit crowded to me, but perhaps it serves as a reminder of: "Whenever you do a thing, act as if all the world were watching." ~ Thomas Jefferson
Use play dough to create globe lollipops. Great for kids' rooms.
Highlight your favorite locations on the map, and frame them.

I hope that you found some of these ideas compelling. In my search for inspiration I discovered a few die-hard fans of world maps, that show their passion not through interior design but rather through permanent body ink. I have to share a few of these as well:

"Wanderlust", a german word that means the lust to wander/travel.
